A small team.
One drawer of vet papers.

HeyVetto is a small independent team building one thing: a place on your phone where every vet paper is readable, searchable and shared with whoever else looks after the pet. Not a data business, and free while we're in testing.

Why it exists

It started at the counter,
like it did for you.

The vet asked a question we should have known the answer to. When was the last rabies shot. What were the liver numbers in the spring. Which tablet, how many milligrams, twice a day or once. It was all written down — in three places, none of them the room.

A drawer at home

Every sheet the clinic ever printed, in the order they fell in.

The camera roll

A photo of the prescription, somewhere between the holiday and the receipts.

A chat thread

The dose, four thousand messages up, in a note to the other person in the house.

Every app we tried wanted us to type the drawer in first. We never did, and neither does anyone else. So we built one that starts from the next sheet you're handed: photograph it, and the dose, the date and the lab values come back as text you can search. The old folder can wait, or never come.

What it is

A web app you install
like any other.

On iPhone and Android, for dogs and cats, and for more than one of them. The photograph of every sheet stays, exactly as the vet wrote it, one tap away.

Reads vet sheets into text

Findings, prescription and lab values — handwriting too. Every line links back to the ink, and uncertain readings are flagged, not hidden.

Tracks each medication to the dose

The prescription becomes a course you tick off. Your phone says what is due today, and the lab values stay in a line over time.

Two people, one record

Send one code and the other owner — or the vet — sees the same record. A tick on one phone shows on the other.

It is free while we are in testing. When that changes, we will say so on this page and in the app first, and the export will keep working whatever you decide. How it compares to the other apps, written by us and saying so.

Three things we hold ourselves to

How we work

How the guides are written

The guides on the blog are written by the team, not by a veterinarian, and each page says so at the top. That is why every clinical claim points to a published source — WSAVA and AAHA on vaccination, the FDA and AVMA on medication, the reference laboratories on lab ranges — and why none of them gives a dose. Where a guide says "call your vet", it means it. Each guide shows the date it was last checked, and the date only moves when the content does.

What we do with your data

Records live on your phone first and are backed up encrypted. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with insurers, advertisers or anyone else. Sign out and the phone keeps nothing. Download everything — records and photos — as one file and leave whenever you want. The full version, with the retention periods and your rights, is the privacy policy.

How to reach us

One address, read by the people who build the app: vettovettoapp@gmail.com. Bug reports, wrong readings, a guide that got something wrong, a feature you keep wishing for — all of it goes there. Find a mistake in a guide and it gets fixed, and the date at the top of that page changes.

Photograph your first sheet tonight

Do one document and see what it makes of it. Next time a vet asks what she has already had, you read it off your phone.
